The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will hold a competitive examination for recruitment to the posts of Lower Divisional Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant and Data Entry Operators for various Ministries/ Departments / Offices of the Government of India.

SSC CHSL VACANCIES: Vacancies will be determined in due course.  Updated vacancy position will be uploaded  on  the  website  of  the  Commission  from  time  to  time  (https://ssc.nic.in->Candidates Corner-> Tentative Vacancy). 

SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria:

A) Nationality / Citizenship:   

A candidate must be either:

(a) a citizen of India, or 

(b) a subject of Nepal, or

(c) a subject of Bhutan, or

(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania ( Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar ), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary will be admitted to the Examination provisionally but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

B) SSC CHSL Educational Qualification (as on 01-01-2021):

For SSC CHSL LDC/ JSA, PA/ SA, DEO (except DEOs in C&AG) : The candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.

For SSC CHSL Data Entry Operator (DEO) in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.

As per Ministry of Human Resource Development Notification dated 10-06-2015
published in Gazette of India all the degrees / diplomas / certificates awarded through Open and Distance Learning mode of education by the Universities established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature automatically recognized for the purpose of employment to posts and services under the Central Government provided they have been approved by the University Grants Commission.

C) Age –(as on 01-01-2021) : 

18-27 years as on 01.01.2020 (Candidates born not before 02-01-1994 and not later than 01-01-2003).

Age relaxation will be applicable according to the Government rules.

SSC CHSL Pay Scale :
For SSC CHSL Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant(JSA) : Pay Level-2 (Rs. 19,900-63,200).
For SSC CHSL Postal Assistant (PA)/Sorting Assistant (SA): Pay Level-4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100).
For SSC CHSL Data Entry Operator (DEO): Pay Level-4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100)

For SSC CHSL Data Entry Operator, Grade A : Pay Level-4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100).  

SSC CHSL Selection Process:
Candidates will be selected on the basis of a
(i) Computer Based Examination (Tier-I),
(ii) Descriptive Paper (Tier-II),
(iii) Skill Test/ Typing Test (Tier-III)

How to apply SSC CHSL Online Application Form:

Applications must be submitted in online mode only at the official website of SSC Headquarters i.e https://ssc.nic.in

Last date for submission of SSC CHSL 2020 online applications is: 15-12-2020

SSC CHSL Application Fee and Mode of Fee Payment:

Fee payable: Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only).
Fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards or in SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan.

Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.

Online fee can be paid by the candidates up to 17-12-2020.
However, candidates who wish to make the cash payment through challan of SBI, may make the payment in cash at the Branches of SBI within the working hours of bank up to 21-12-2020 provided the challan has been generated by them before 19-12-2020.

SSC CHSL Centre of Examination: A candidate must indicate the Centre(s) in the online Application Form in which he/ she desires to take the examination.
A candidate may give option for three centres, in the order of priority, within the same region.
No request for change of Centre of Examination will be considered later under any circumstances.
