SSC COMBINED HIGHER SECONDARY LEVEL (10+2) EXAMINATION Exam Details

SSC is going to conduct SSC CHSL Exam 2016. This exam has been organized by Staff Selection Commission (SSC), which is an All India Open Competitive Examination for the recruitment of the positions of Postal  Assistants / Sorting  Assistants,  Data  Entry  Operators, Lower Divisional Clerks  and  Court  Clerk during  the  period  from  07.01.2017  to  05.02.2017 in different Central Government Ministries / Departments / Offices of Govt. of India. For this exam, interested candidates have to 12th or equivalent passed.

Eligibility Criteria :

A) Citizenship :   

A candidate must be either :

(a) a citizen of India, or

(b) a subject of Nepal, or

(c) a subject of Bhutan, or

(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania ( Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar ), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary will be admitted to the Examination provisionally but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

B) Educational Qualification(as on 01-01-2017) :

Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University. 

C) Age –(as on 01-01-2017) : 

Age limit : 18-27 years

(Candidates born not before 02-01-1990 and not later than 01-01-1999).

Age relaxation will be applicable according to the Government rules.

Application Fee:

Payment of application fee is exempted for all women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped and Ex-servicemen eligible for reservation, as per Government orders.

The candidates submitting application offline (paper mode) should pay the fee of
Rs 100 (Rupees one hundred only) by means of "Central Recruitment Fee
Stamps (CRFS)"only. Recruitment Fee Stamps should be pasted on the application form in the space earmarked for the purpose and got cancelled from
the Counter of Post Office of issue with the date stamp of the Issuing Post Office
in such a manner that the impression of the cancellation stamp partially
overflows on the Application Form itself, taking care at the same time that the
impression is clear and distinct to facilitate the identification of date and Post
Office of issue at any subsequent stage. After getting the Recruitment Fee
Stamps cancelled from the Post Office, the candidate must submit their
application to the concerned Regional Office/Sub Regional Offices of the
Commission in the usual manner after completing other formalities. Application
with CRFS not cancelled by the post office will be rejected outright.

The candidates submitting application form online (computer based) should pay the fee of Rs 100 (Rupees one hundred only) by means of SBI Challan or Online
payment through Net banking or any credit/debit cards only.

How to apply :

Aspirants can apply either by online mode or by offline mode. Contenders who want to apply online can do so through the official website of SSC : ssc.online.nic.in and ssconline2.gov.in . Aspirants have to upload scanned copy of their signature and passport size photograph while filling the application form.  

Aspirants who want to apply offline can do so by sending their application on a paper and making the payment of application fee through Central Recruitment Fee Stamps. Applications should be submitted to the respective Regional Office / Sub Regional Offices of the Commission.
